South Beach and Ocean Drive
Also known as SoBe or The Beach, South Miami is the most popular area and is located between 1st and 25th street in Miami Beach.
It is one of the most popular stretches of beach in the region!
You can go to the beach, walk or enjoy the bars and restaurants on the seaside avenue – the Ocean Drive?? Ocean drive is always lively and full of people! One of the trademarks is the coconut trees lined up along the shore.
The only but are the parking lots?? The few places are hotly contested. When I go, I usually leave it in private parking lots.
Other options for beaches and parks are the North Beach (a quieter beach) and Haulover Park (a very nice and calm beach with some stretches of crystalline waters).
To admire the sunset, go to the South Point Park, at the end of South Beach!
Lincoln Road
A street super known for its numerous bars, restaurants and shops.
A late afternoon walk is a great option!
You'll find stores like Zara, Forever 21, Pottery Barn, Apple and even Brazilian brand stores like Havaianas and Melissa. Collins Avenue also has a selection of famous designer stores.
art deco district
O art deco district was classified as a National Historic Site in 1979. It is a district of Miami Beach known for its more than 800 buildings built between 1923 and 1843.
One of the main features is the tones and the unique architecture.
Another point worth visiting is the Art Deco Museum, a museum that tells the story of Miami Beach's 100 years. From there, tours depart to see the most famous buildings in the neighborhood – Park Central (between 6th and 7th st), Lummus Park (Ocean Drive and 7th St), Casa Casaurina (was home to Gianni Versace), The Tides hotel (Ocean Dr between 12th and 13th St), Carlyle Hotel (1250 Ocean Dr) , National Hotel (1677 Collins Ave) and Delano (largest building on Miami Beach, built in 1947).

It is considered the largest aquarium in South Florida. It was opened in 1955 and is a great option for those with children and/or who want to attend some shows.

Boat trip on Biscayne Bay
A tour of approximately 90 minutes where you can visit the homes of millionaires and various artists such as Shakira and Ricky Martin.
Biscayne Bay it is the bay around Miami, Miami Beach and other islands.
A boat trip around Biscayne is a great way to relax and enjoy the view of Miami. Tours usually depart from the Bayside Marketplace and can be purchased on site.
Watch a basketball game
One of the things I've always programmed myself to do is watch a basketball game from Miami Heat (Miami basketball team) at American Airlines Arena.
Tickets can be purchased from Ticketmaster. The American Airlines Arena is also known for great shows.
You can check the dates and buy tickets on Ticketmaster as well. The NBA season runs from October to May/June.
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens
It is nothing more than a residence decorated in a European style and rich in details.
It was planned between 1914 and 1916 to be James Deering's winter mansion.
Vizcaya is on the shores of Biscayne Bay and has beautiful gardens that invite you to take a walk. It is a worthwhile program for anyone who enjoys architecture and history. Besides, the place is super nice for a refreshing afternoon!
shopping in miami
Miami is a shopping paradise for Brazilians. There are countless options! The largest outlet center in the United States is at Sawgrass Mills (55 km from Miami airport and 25 km from downtown Fort Lauderdale).
Most of my shopping I did there. Two other major malls are the Dolphin Mall (very close to the Miami airport) and the Aventura Mall (halfway between Miami Beach and Fort Lauderdale).
The Bal Harbor Shops is the most chic mall in the city, where you can find the most famous brands in the world. There are also big brand stores on Lincoln Road and Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. If you're going to Miami to do your baby's layette, read this post: Shopping for baby layette in Miami.
Fort Lauderdale
The nearby city of Miami is worth a visit if you have time. A day trip is perfect!
The city is known as the North American Venice because it has numerous canals and waterways!
Take a walk along the Riverwalk (a boardwalk for a very pleasant walk and you can even follow a bit of the boats through the city's canals) and along the central waterfront of the city (with a very calm beach with several bars and restaurants by the sea).
To get to know the city in a fun way, try the water taxi, a water taxi which passes through the main sites of Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood Beach. It is also possible to go up and down the stops as many times as necessary.
And finally, visit Las Olas Boulevard, a street that concentrates the city's commerce and where there are good restaurants and bars. By car, the journey takes approximately 30 minutes.
Key West
The southernmost continental United States has breathtaking scenery. It is made up of islands with beautiful beaches and great hotels.
It's perfect for a few days of calm, enjoying the beautiful landscapes and crystal clear waters. The bridges that give access also provide beautiful views! By car, the journey takes approximately 3 hours.
Finally, I hope you enjoyed our tips!
To the next!
