Many people like to stay there, some because they are allergic to sand, others because they don't like to come home looking like a croquette. But actually, the cold grass on your feet is delicious.

It is on this beach that you will make a beautiful record with the Torres name?? In the background, Morro do Meio and Morro do Farol. This is that beautiful photo to stay in memory.

This beach is the postcard of the city, as I have already mentioned in other articles. It is impossible to go to Torres and not stop at this beach, which belongs to Parque da Guarita or Parque Estadual José Lutzenberger (Conservation unit).

Guarita Beach
Guarita Beach

And on Guarita beach, which are some of the towers that gave the city its name?? Resulting from volcanic eruptions, a time when the American continent separated from Africa.

Curiosity: On the African continent there is other side on Morro do Meio (or Morro das Furnas), with some different rocky features, as they are the result of hundreds of years of nature's intervention (sun, wind, rain and sea waves).

In Morro do Meio it is possible to take a beautiful walk, go down the stairs and reach the beach. Be careful with the walls, there are signposts, but it's always good to be careful!

In the Central tower, which is on the other side of the beach, you can take a trail with 124 steps. Overlooking Parque da Itapeva and Praia da Itapeva, as well as the entire look of Praia da Guarita.

Big beach: the most popular beach in Torres

This is the beach most frequented by tourists, because it has a large sand area, kiosks on the beachfront and on the boardwalk and easy access, as it is right in the center.

Tours usually stop here. So don't be surprised when you look at the boardwalk and a sea of people with bags, backpacks and lots of good energy is arriving at the beach (it's quite common).

Particularly I think the beach is very busy and I don't like it very much, when I want calm I go to Praianha (Praia do Meio) or Molhes.

The tip is for the athletes on duty, the remainder that starts from big beach to the moles, gives 1.5km, so a walk or run goes down super well and you won't get lost, because it's a straight line.

Another advantage are the kiosks crepes, ala minutas, buffets, churros and caipirinhas that are on the boardwalk, in addition to the kiosks that are on the sand that usually sell corn and fried pastry. It is a great option for those who prefer to eat something different.

Big beach
Big beach

Another important and fun point is that in Praia Grande is the SESC with its sand courts to practice volleyball, soccer and physical education teachers who daily invite bathers to practice dancing in the open air (a form of physical activity) I think it's great!

Praia dos piers – Torres RS

THE Praia dos piers is located on the border of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. With a Lighthouse at the end of the Molhes, it serves as a signal for the boats.

Praia dos Molhes
Praia dos piers

The beach is the darling of surfers, the "peak" there are many waves. For those who love to enjoy nature, the sunrise is incredible and it is worth waking up early to witness this beauty. For fishermen, it's also a great spot.

The beach sand is a delight to enjoy a sunny day, dazzle nature and enjoy the beautiful landscapes.

lime beach – Torres RS

THE lime beach it is full of attractions, during the summer there are food kiosks and chair rentals, for those who like to practice some kind of sport, in the beach square (just cross the sidewalk), there is a beach tennis court and another beach football.

You don't need to have a duo, or a team, just arrive and the fun will be guaranteed!

In addition, the square “Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes” is a delight to drink that mate at the end of the afternoon, say your prayers together with the monument of Iemanjá or take your dog to go for a walk.

Walking along the boardwalk on one side (towards Prainha) you will find the Nossa Senhora Aparecida Cave or Iemanjá (depending on your belief) under the Farol hill, it is a very nice place and a mandatory stop to get cold water from the source (well next to Santinha).

For those who want to take a more hectic walk, you can go up the hill and take the Morro do Meio trails. Read: Trails in Guarita Torres Park-RS

Torres Ballooning Festival

Ballooning usually takes place at the end of April, with an average of 80 balloons in the sky and a festival of music and activities during every day of the event.

Every day, depending on the weather forecast, the tests take place during the morning and at the end of the day.

The ideal is at 7 am you go with your chimarrão, choose a good place and wait for the show in the park! Or after 4 pm. Balloons take around 40 min to 1 hour to do the tests.

An important point is to know that not all tests take place in the park. That's why the advantage of listening to the radio or looking at social networks, usually from 6 am you'll already know the whole schedule for the day.

Torres Ballooning Festival

But I anticipate that the really beautiful thing is to follow everything up close!

All the places where the tests take place are close to the park, it will take you around 15 minutes to reach the venues. The good thing is to anticipate, because everyone wants to go see it and it arrives at a certain moment when there is a lot of congestion.

What to do in Torres in winter

Drinking chimarrão in Prainha

You must be thinking, wow what a program?! And my answer is: yes, super program on Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning or late afternoon.

Prainha is crowded, you can find children playing, people doing physical activities and the bushmen on duty. Drinking mate and lizard in the winter sun is priceless.

There are families who agree to have a mate and have a picnic, if you hadn't thought about it yet, take advantage of the idea!

Take the kids to the Guarita park or Lagoa do Violão

It's a great activity to have fun with the little ones and they'll love it.
