Praia da Cal is one of the beaches in Torres, on the north coast of Rio Grande do Sul. The landscapes are incredible from the sea and the hill, making the place unique! You still don't know "Cal", let's go there, we're going to share important tips from our sweetheart!
Before talking about Cal, I'll share with you that she is our beach :). We live in the Praia da Cal neighborhood and 2 blocks from the sea. So, you already know that yes, it is our favorite beach <3

Where is Cal Beach?
Located between Morro do Farol and Morro das Furnas, it is approximately 400 meters long (strip of sand).
What's on at Praia da Cal
The beach is very full of attractions, during the summer there are kiosks for food and renting chairs, for those who like to practice some kind of sport, in the beach square (just cross the sidewalk), there is a tennis court and another beach soccer.
You don't need to have a pair, or a team, just arrive and the fun will be guaranteed!
Furthermore, the little squareOur Lady of Navigators” It's a love to have that chimarrão in the late afternoon, say your prayers together with the Iemanjá monument or take your dog out for a walk.
Walking along the promenade on one side (towards Prainha) you will find under the Farol hill the Cave of Our Lady of Aparecida or Iemanjá (depending on your belief), it's a really cool place and an obligatory stop to get cold water from the fountain (right next to Santinha).

Tip: Be careful with the stones, it's dangerous to get hurt, always be aware of the lifeguard signs.
Why the name Praia da Cal?
Praia da Cal has this name because until the 1940s there were ovens for roasting shells and shells of shellfish taken from middens for the manufacture of mineral lime.
Public going to Praia da Cal
If you want a calmer beach (I don't suggest Cal) hehehe, that's because families with children usually go, and you know, it's that party, bustle, children running, father screaming, music on and few people reading a book.
But it's a very summer beach and super lively!!! The beach more calm is Praia dos Molhes.
