New York | Visiting the 9/11 Memorial, a place with a lot of history and great respect for the victims, in addition to the museum with many details about this tragedy that marked the world.
We went to meet the 9/11 Memorial – Tribute to the events of September 11, 2001. 9/11 Memorial it's called Reflecting Absence.
I had no idea how much energy there is in this place, it's surreal!
There are 2 spaces – South and North Pool – with water fountains that fall into an indoor pool with a large void in the middle.
In both spaces are the names of the nearly 3000 people who died during September 11, 2001 in World Trade Center, the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania, the Pentagon and the 6 who died during the attack that took place in February 1993.
The visit was unforgettable! In addition to the spaces, there is a forest with trees and benches – which makes the place even more emblematic and special.
In addition to tourists, thousands of people visit the memorial constantly and leave memories such as flowers, letters and tributes.
I spent a few minutes contemplating space: the waters looked like tears that fell directly into a deep and infinite void...
The visit is free. However, to access the Museum you have to pay to enter.
National September 11 Memorial & Museum
Museum address: 180 Greenwich St, New York, NY 10007
You can take the time to learn about the history of the events of September 11, 2001 and the memorial at the onsite exhibit.
A place of respect and worth visiting.
In the Museum you will find the Firemen's trucks, the clothes they used in combat and there is a room that is as if they transported us to that day, with audios from the Firefighters about the occurrence.
In addition to many other items that were part of this story.
It is very sad to experience all that, but for the museum it is a way of not letting those who gave their lives fighting for others die.
If you want to know more about that day, there is a very emotional movie “The Twin Towers”, it is impossible not to get emotional.
