Where is Passo de Torres beach?

Located on the border with the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Passo de Torres has, along its coast, 24 beaches, the best known of which is Bella Torres.

Why is the name Passo de Torres?

The name of Passo de Torres originated from the transit of goods and people that came from Laguna to the territory of São Pedro do Rio Grande.

These places, on the banks of rivers, were known as steps. Passo de Torres was probably the original name of the region that surrounded the two banks of the Mampituba River, at its mouth.

Which beach borders Torres RS?

Praia dos Molhes, or Molhes da Barra, is the point where the Mampituba River meets the Atlantic, right on the border of Torres with Passos de Torres.

What to do in Passo de Torres – SC

The city of Passo de Torres has leisure and culture all year round! Below I will share some activities that you can do in this coastal city:

Fishing in the Mampituba River

This is one of the most fun activities you can do any time of the year! If you don't have a fishing rod, you can buy it locally or even rent it! 🙂

The most beautiful and fun places to fish are on the jetties, its long extension has some small decks that will facilitate access to the river.

Ride a boat, jet-ski and speedboat on the Mampituba River

Another attraction for your vacation are activities with boats such as jet-skiing, boating or motorboats. If you don't have a license to navigate, it is possible to rent and have someone drive for you.

To access the boats and jet-skis, go to one of the city's marinas: Marina Por do Sol or Marina Mar y Rio.

Morro dos Macacos – Passo de Torres

Morro dos Macacos is a Ecological Reserve with approximately 200 monkeys, it is also possible to see other species such as: capybaras, alligators, lizards, birds and other animals native to the region.

The park is a place for the family to have a picnic and get to know countless monkeys up close, they get close to tourists, they love to receive a banana. But be smart, because they might even take some of your belongings 😅

Children have fun! In addition to the monkeys, the site has a small trail inside the hill and at the end of the trail is a beautiful view of Lagoa de Sombrio!

To access the park you have to pay R$10.00 per adult and R$5.00 per child.

O opening hours is from 9 am to 6 pm. In high season (summer) the park is open from Wednesday to Sunday, while in low season they are open from Friday to Sunday.

Park Rules:

  • Forbidden to take a dog;
  • Prohibited automotive sound;
  • It is forbidden to bring alcohol into the park;
  • Do not eat near animals;
  • Do not feed the animals (only what the guardians allow, for example: bananas).

Passo de Torres beaches

The beaches of Passo de Torres are quieter, (unlike the neighboring beach Torres). During the summer it has lifeguards, making bathing in the sea safer.

Altogether there are 20 beaches and these 4 beaches are the ones with the most infrastructure:

  • Passo de Torres beach
  • Bella Torres
  • sea rose
  • Miratorres beach

Passo de Torres beach

Praia do Passo de Torres is the most popular in the city, because it is located right on the border with RS (and its city Torres), many tourists choose to stay here because they have cheaper rents and have easy access to the beaches. , in addition to having less movement.

Right next to this beach we have the Molhes, which borders the RS and in the middle its divider: Rio Mampituba.

An advantage of being on this beach is the easy access to restaurants and supermarkets.

Bella Torres

Bella Torres beach has a good structure, with space for shows, a beautiful image of Iemanjá (Patron saint of the Sea), kiosk with restaurant and sports courts.

The distance from the city of Passo de Torres to this beach is around 10km. The beach generally receives more families, which makes for a peaceful environment. To access the beach, you can use the interpraias road or the BR 101, access is well signposted with a Portal Bella Torres.

This is where the famous Tapera Lagoon, many lifeguards do their training there, and in general the population likes to take a shower, have a picnic and enjoy a late afternoon drinking mate.

Praia Rosa do Mar

Rosa do Mar is next to Bella Torres, it is the famous beach with beach houses, that is, many residents of neighboring regions such as Morrinhos do Sul, Mampituba, Sombrio, have their beach houses to spend the summer.

The beach has restaurants, grocery stores and access decks to the beach. For those who don't like hustle and bustle, this beach is a great option.

Miratorres beach

Praia de Miratorres is more of a family beach, quiet and not much infrastructure. Their demand has been growing after the construction of a condominium in the region.

From the beach it is possible to see the city of Torres (its large buildings). Around the beach there are local shit. To enjoy a day at the beach, the ideal is to bring food and enjoy a sunny day!
