Trip to Times Square and Midtown – NY

On the first day in New York we went to visit the region of Times Square and Midtown.

THE Times Square is considered an icon known worldwide for the shows of Broadway, digital advertising ads and other advertising animations.

A light show!

Times Square

It is one of the most famous tourist spots in Manhattan - intersection of 7th Avenue and Broadway, formed by blocks of 6th Avenue and 8th Avenue from east to west and West 40th and West 53rd streets from south to north, in a commercial area also known as Midtown Manhattan or even the Times region square, or “Crossroads of the World” (“Crossroads of the World”).

In addition to Times Square being a place where lights and advertising billboards are everywhere, there are very interesting places to visit such as: ABC's Times Square Studios (where “Good Morning America” is broadcast live), Toys'R'Us stores, Hershey's, M&M's, Swatch, restaurants such as The View; Hard Rock Café and many others.

TKTS is also present in Times Square, offering tickets to Broadway and Off-Broadway shows at discounts from 25% to 50%.

We spent hours and hours watching everything in Times Square and we even went back a few more times 🙂 It's very tasty and different! Especially at night with all the lights.

Rockefeller CenterNY

Still in Midtown, we head north along Sixth Avenue until we find the Rockefeller Center.

The Rockefeller Centrer Observatory, the top of the rock on top of Rockefeller Plaza no. 30, via observatories located on the 67th, 69th and 70th floors, has one of the best views in Manhattan!

It is the best place to observe the Empire State Building and Central Park.

Opening hours (Top of the Rock)- Every day of the week: opens at 8:00 am and closes at midnight.

Saint Patrick's Cathedral – NY

From there, we walked to 5th Avenue towards 51st Street. Saint Patrick's Cathedral – considered the largest Catholic cathedral in the United States

Then we continued walking to 59th Street where Central Park is 🙂

Finally, we walked back to Times Square. You can still take the subway to another region or return to your hotel.

This circuit can take up to 5 hours depending on the stops you make along the way, but it's very pleasant!
