Take the metro to Copacabana
If you are thinking of going to the beach by car, uber or bus, know that you will probably get traffic congestion, several streets are closed, you will spend a lot of money, the city will be crowded and the best option is to take the subway.
The subway works completely differently on New Year's Day:
Day: 31/12 Starting at 7 pm, you can only use the metro if you have purchased the special card: New Year's Eve ticket.
Important: pay attention to the time of your ticket! You can choose your time, for example: 19:00, 20:00, 21:00 until 24:00. To return, you can return at any time. I recommend that you buy your ticket in advance (1 week before) and don't buy it on the day!
