The arrival point is Ilhéus, then it is another 40 minutes journey, made by car, taxi, bus or van. Itacaré has 40 kilometers of coastline, with 15 beaches, some so hidden that they don't even appear on maps.
Therefore, the best way to discover these beaches and the waterfalls of Rio de Contas is to wake up early and take the good old walk.
Beaches of Itacaré – Bahia

How to Go to Itacaré – Bahia
Itacaré is located on the Cocoa Coast, in the State of Bahia, south of Salvador, 70 km north of Ilhéus.
The closest airport to Itacaré is in Ilhéus (IOS) and is currently served by daily flights from GOL and TAM, originating from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Salvador.
To reach Itacaré by land, access is via BA-001, the new asphalt road that directly connects Ilhéus to Itacaré, following the coast.
Travel agencies in Itacaré offer transfer services between Ilhéus and Itacaré. You can also rent a car at the airport in Ilhéus.
When to Go to Itacaré – Bahia
The best time to go to Itacaré is in the summer, from December to February, or from March to May, or from August to November, when prices are lower. From June to July there is a lot of rain.
Where to stay in Itacaré – Bahia

Climate of Itacaré – Bahia
The climate is tropical. Temperatures range from 25OC and 30OC, but can reach 40OC during the summer (from December to February).
The sun is company all year round but the rains are more frequent during the winter (from May to August).
Shopping
In the land of cocoa, craftsmanship inspired by it is the most obvious souvenir. He's on T-shirts, ashtrays and fruit-shaped jars. The regionally themed T-shirts are very nice and tasteful, as are the sculptures.
Cocoa and genipap liqueurs are another popular souvenir, as are the little bottles with a little devil inside and the caricatures of Jorge Amado characters.
But if you want a chic and very pretty souvenir, take the sculptures from the Cores da Terra atelier, now sold even abroad. They are reproductions of fruits, flowers and vegetables made in ceramic with an exceptional quality.

· Visit the Serra Grande viewpoint when arriving in Itacaré.
· The Tijuípe waterfall, on the road to Ilhéus, is great for a swim and lunch.
· See the sunset at Praia das Conchas.
· Dancing forró: most events take place on Rua da Orla.
