The nature of these canyons is so incredible and surreal that it is difficult to know what to do in Aparados da Serra and Serra Geral and where each Canyon is located. Here on this pole, I'll give you the tips you need.
Saw trimmings
They are formations of deep valleys formed by vertical slopes located in the south of Brazil, between Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina🇧🇷 Its beauty enchants tourists from all over the world!
Called saw trimmings with origins of the tropeiros who roamed the region, going down the mountain to do barter (exchange of food for another type of food or another item of necessity) and gave this name because the walls seemed to be trimmed with a knife.
Are 13,141 hectares of area with a surreal nature, bordering the Serra Geral National Park.
The agency responsible for the parks is the ICMBio.
Serra Geral
Its rock formation with origin in Paraguay, diagonally cutting the state of Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul and dividing the coast from the interior of Santa Catarina. Both bordering the Parks.
Formed by mountains and deep valleys, with a plateau on its surface. Characterized by smooth coxilhas and shallow valleys with their walls of basalt rocks, in addition to vegetation composed of araucarias and Atlantic forest, crystalline rivers, waterfalls and large fields.
Altitude of an average of 950 meters. From the top it is possible to see the sea and neighboring cities.
Your area is 17.300 acre.
The agency responsible for the parks is the ICMBio.
Animals you can find in the mountains
The preservation of fauna is very important, therefore if you find any animal that you consider dangerous, leave carefully and do not try to kill it, remember: you are the one in their house.
Some of the animals you can find: maned wolf, cougar, pampas deer (these are seen more in the more isolated areas), hawk-duck, gray eagle, venomous snakes, wild boars, spiders, among others.
What to do in the Trimmings of the saw and general saw?
The parks are surrounded by a lot of forest, walls, rivers and waterfalls, in addition to the animals that belong to this habitat.
There are some companies that make tour packages to visit all the parks. Here I will give you tips on the parks that you will be able to know alone and which ones do you will need a guide.
Tip: Put on comfortable clothes and good shoes for trails and walking. It is very important for you to enjoy your tour well.

Elbow Trail. Difficulty level: easy to average.

Fortress Canyon
Canyon Fortaleza for me, is one of the most beautiful and it is possible to view the valleys from different angles. Famous for having shown a soap opera from the globe above, it gave a beautiful green field.

Mirante do Fortaleza trail. Difficulty level: easy
Tigre Preto Waterfall Trail. Difficulty level: easy
Pedra do Segredo Trail. Difficulty level: easy
None of the trails require a guide.

Sunset at Morro dos Cabritos
This hill is very discreet, but when you are at the highest place, it provides an incredible view.
Easy access, but be careful not to go straight through it. It has a flat informing and some parked cars (which will be what will draw your attention).
You will need to go up a trail and walk for about 300 meters to the top.
The view of the sea, the Mampituba River and the Canyons is amazing. Imagine the sunset?!
And it will be easy to enjoy the sunset, because, as instructed, traveling along these roads at night is dangerous, and Morro dos Cabritos is the end of the mountain range, approximately 5 kilometers from Praia Grande.
Trail: Difficulty Level: easy.
Things to do in Aparados da Serra and Serra Geral– Tourism
The region of Praia Grande -SC, Mampituba -RS, Cambará do sul – RS and Torres-RS is growing more every day. Working with a farm hotel, a colonial café and a trail through the canyons.
Tip: always have a bottle of water and some snacks on hand. Because you won't find anything to buy inside the parks, only in some places on the road.
It is a last message: It's FORBIDDEN camping inside the canyons!
