Where is Joaquina Beach?
Praia da Joaquina is located in Florianópolis, east of Santa Catarina Island.
How to get to Praia da Joaquina?
After accessing the Florianópolis Island bridge, you can take 3 accesses,
- Admar Gonzaga Highway, 19km (probably there will be traffic congestion),
- the other access via Rodovia Gov. Aderbal Ramos da Sila, it's 24km but the route is faster
- and the other is along Avenida Beira Mar Norte and Rodovia Admar Gonzafa, 21km.
To access the beach you have to pay, as it is within a Preservation Area. Many people choose to leave their car on the access road, but during the high season it is a little difficult to find a parking space.
How is Joaquina SC beach?
Praia da Joaquina is 3 km long, its waves have a good swell and the sea is not the calmest like other areas of the island, they are usually big and strong waves (suitable for surfing).
