A little about the history of Cidreira

In 1950, the construction of the road linking Porto Alegre to the coast began (completed in 1958), developing the process of urbanization of Cidreira/Pinhal. In 1954, CEEE installed the first electricity generator, followed in the 1960s by the first telephone station and water treatment service, by Corsan.

The municipality had its origin in Santo Antônio da Patrulha, later passing to Osório and, finally, to Tramandaí – until, in May 1988, it was emancipated.
