LAS VEGAS

And off I went to yet another tourist cliché, Las Vegas. Known as the entertainment capital of the world, the city has enough attractions for as many days as you want.

I decided to be against it, I didn't leave what happened there in Vegas and that's why I share everything with you today.

A global leader in the hospitality industry, Las Vegas is now one of the top destinations in the world!

There are more than 42,000 tourists per year (2015 data). There are 149,000 rooms distributed in the most distinguished hotels and resorts that are part of the main attractions of the city.

If you want to make money, maybe there is a good place for you to try your luck. There are thousands of gaming tables and casino machines spread all over the place.

If you want to lose money, this is definitely the place. Playing, with the women, with a ballad, with a drink or with a show! Las Vegas is not an expensive destination, but the amount of money you can spend there is endless!

Las Vegas

Walking around the casinos held my attention for 30 minutes. I found it amazing what they do inside the hotels and the universe they build, but there is a moment when all that becomes repetitive. Although one more different than another, the essence itself remains the same.

I think it's a valid destination to visit, but in my opinion it's: go, visit, meet, enjoy and thank you, I won't be back!

I would say that one or two days are enough for the city, but it is true that if you want to spend a week there, you will find something to do too.

I'll just tell you: it's mandatory to spend a night, because after all, that's when everything happens. If São Paulo is famous for being the city that never sleeps, I don't know how to classify Las Vegas!

We spent two days and three nights. Our first day was entirely dedicated to grand canyon, which is not necessarily Vegas, but which is worth a lot due to its proximity.

The night after the Grand Canyon tour, we walked the strip avenue: busiest avenue and where practically everything that is relevant is!

We were very tired, so the walk was fast and the focus was on the Bellagio show.

The show takes place in front of the hotel. It is possible to watch from several points on the Strip, and it restarts every 30 minutes in the afternoon and every 15 minutes from 8:00 pm to midnight. So if it's too full and you can't watch it, wait for the next one, it's worth the time ;)

I recommend that you watch it at night, because in addition to the dancing waters, the show is all lit up! The way the water dances in time with the music is impressive.

At the second day, the objective was to get to know the hotels!

we stayed in Vdara a no-frills hotel by Las Vegas standards, but a great choice for those looking to be in the center of it all.

It is a hotel without much fuss, but cozy. We were lucky to get a room with a view of the Strip, where it was possible to watch a piece of the dancing water show, a room so big, I think it was the size of my apartment, Las Vegas is really exaggerated in everything it does.

HOSPITALITY

the aria it was one of the first options for being next to our hotel. Unlike many hotels in the city this one does not have a theme, it is modern (completed in the year 2009) and very luxurious.

HOSPITALITY
HOSPITALITY

A classic US technology magazine, Popular Mechanics, described the hotel as possibly “the most technologically advanced hotel ever built”. There are 4,000 suites in a single hotel, in fact I think this is the crazy part of Las Vegas, the size of its hotels!

HOTEL LUXOR

Very close to the Aria, there is the Las Vegas Monorail, a modern connection between the hotels on the Strip. We took this transport that happens to be free and went to Luxor.

HOTEL LUXOR
HOTEL LUXOR

Luxor is the famous hotel themed with the Pyramid of Luxor (Egypt). Upon entering, you are practically transported to that Egyptian environment of pharaohs and sphinxes. Being the fifth largest hotel in Las Vegas and the ninth largest in the world, it has a total of 4,400 suites. I must say here that it is an older hotel, opened in 1993 and has already undergone several renovations!

It is also curious that the tip of the pyramid has such a strong light that it is possible to see it from the space station.

VENETIAN

O Venetian Hotel, as its name suggests, is themed after the beautiful and beautiful Italian city: Venice. The reproduction is incredible and for me it was the most impressive hotel. You can even ride a gondola with a singing gondolier.

VENETIAN
VENETIAN

The hotel opened in 1999 and is considered one of the most luxurious and expensive hotels in the entire United States, rates range from US $ 562 – US $ 10,000 per night. Well, there are a lot of people paying, after all there are 4,000 suites.

A very curious fact about the hotels in Vegas, but which is very evident at the Venetian, is that none of them have windows. This is so you don't notice it's getting dark. In very clear Portuguese, the idea is that you lose track of time and never stop enjoying, I mean spending. At the Venetian, the ceiling is represented by a sky so blue, and so real, that it's always day there, regardless of the time of day.

LAS VEGAS STRIP

Las Vegas has many places to spend money, but it also has so much to see that you don't have to pay a dime. For example, visiting hotels.

LAS VEGAS STRIP
LAS VEGAS STRIP

Take some time to walk along the Strip, the city's amazing avenue, this is where most of the city's hotels are located, just choose and enter.

Strolling through the shops on the Strip can be an attraction, shops like Coca Cola and M&M are two that are worth visiting.

ZAPPOS

Zappos is an e-commerce company that was bought by Amazon for millions (in the US it is a very well known company, in Brazil not so much).

Well, you must be wondering what this has to do with Las Vegas? After reading the book Satisfaction Guaranteed, which describes the culture of Zappos, the way they serve customers and how they take care of their employees, I fell in love with the company.

Being located in Vegas and also allowing people to visit the office, I didn't think twice.

At the time I was working in HR, with endomarketing and I couldn't let the opportunity slip away! If you are an entrepreneur or work with customer service or people management, this place will definitely interest you. The Benchmarking visit was really inspiring.

SHOW LE REVE

We opted for the Le Reve presentation. It's all performed underwater and it's sensational. Even Cirque du Soleil has a play with the same concept, some friends who went to both recommended Le Reve and off we went!

It is quite impressive what happens in that show, the theater is not very big, it is circular, giving everyone the opportunity to have a great view of the pool-stage.

Here's a tip: buy in advance. Speaking of advance, we arrived early to check out the Wynn hotel, which is the hotel that hosts the show. No special theme, but it's worth the walk for pure luxury and the gardens present in the four corners.

A much smaller hotel with “only” 2,700 rooms, opened in 2005. If you're looking for renowned cuisine, give the Wing Lei (Chinese restaurant) a chance, which received a Michelin star and is located inside the Wynn.

FREMONT STREET

Today Fremont Street is the second avenue in Las Vegas. It was once home to the main casinos in the city, but over time it lost its glamor to the Strip.

To win back the public, a boardwalk was built with a cover and a giant LED panel. From time to time there are performances on the panel while on the street, other live shows, lots of music and mess!

The party goes on all night long there, so don't worry about the time. Just remember that the later you go, the more drunks you'll find there.

SHOWS

I believe that attending a show in Las Vegas is an investment, it is living an experience!. Most of them are super productions, something that is rarely seen in Brazil.

Let's list some of them for you:

  • LOVE – If you are a fan or at least like the Beatles, maybe this is the show for you! Cirque du Soleil put on a performance in honor of the band. The whole show is surrounded by great Beatles classics, even for those who enjoy it, there's no way not to like it.
  • ONE – Still in the line of tributes, this one is for Michael Jackson fans. Literally, a trip around the world and Michael's songs, obviously also from Cirque du Soleil.
  • O – This is a show very similar to Le Reve, the show I reported above, but with the performative Soleil.
  • KA “Another one from Cirque, of course. Ká plays with two moving platforms throughout the entire show, seducing the audience with a certain optical illusion of the audience.
  • blue men – If you didn't watch this presentation in Brazil, this could be a great opportunity. In a very amusing way, the show brings different types of sounds that capture the curiosity of the spectators.

For adults, Las Vegas offers a number of striper shows. Incidentally, something that is very common there are: people approaching men to offer prostitutes card (even those who are accompanied are approached, in the biggest face). Don't be scared lol...
