Planning our trip to Disney – Orlando
How much is a trip to Disney 2023
So without further ado, our 12-day trip to Florida, including 4 days at Disney, cost around R$11,000.00 each, that's right! Airfare in economy class, 3 star hotel and lots of fast food 🍔 🥓🍟 because the food there is very cheap!
Our expense spreadsheet:
Airfare
R$2,700/per person.
Leaving Porto Alegre to Fort Lauderdale, the airline was blue.
But of course you can buy directly to Orlando. If your days are shorter and you don't like driving, our option might not suit you.
As we got off in Fort Lauderdale, we did the entire coastline of Florida, we stopped when we wanted to enjoy some place, some beach and so we enjoyed our trip a lot!
Hotel close to Disney parks
R$400.00 + fees more or less R$30.00. Total: R$430.00 per day.
The hotel was Ramada by Wyndham Kissimmee Gateway, enjoy and search for prices around here!
Our choice was the most economical and considering the distance from the parks. We paid around R$400.00 a day and we were around 20 minutes away from each park, some more and others less. In addition, our hotel was close to everything: walmart, Ross, McDonald's and much more!
An analysis that we did before choosing the hotel is to check the availability of a microwave, fridge and coffee maker, so you can buy something in the supermarket and heat it up in your room. In this hotel there is coffee, but it is not included in the price, so we always choose to have something to eat in the room like cookies, sandwiches, drinks and so on (hehehe).

Food inside and outside the Disney parks
We love fast food, so we looked for something to eat on the street, different burgers and had fun. There are places that with USD1.65 you can eat a hamburger. Imagine how hungry there is?! Impossible!
So our average per day for food expenses was USD 20.00 or R$100.00 per person.
And I guarantee that there are days when you spend less than that, but there are also those days when you can spend more. For example, we separate one day of the week to have a coffee in the Best Coffee Shop in the USA – IHOP, and I assure you, it was worth every penny! It is wonderful!!!
Car rental in orlando
If you are afraid or used to UBER or other types of app companies, I guarantee that renting your car is the best option. The reason is simple, everything is far away, there are long roads and depending on the hotel you stay, you will have parks that are super far away.
We love going to stores, outlets, supermarkets and getting to know the sights of cities, so having our means of transportation is wonderful and super practical.
Car rental price for 11 days: R$250.00 per day.
Make your reservation by rentcars, it has the option of searching the different rental companies and you choose the best option:
Disney tickets
Ticket prices vary around R$534.00 per day plus taxes.
So for us, 4 days was a total of R$2,200.00 per person (approximately plus taxes).
If you buy it for every day, or go to two parks in one day, the price is cheaper. It is worth it!
Parking fee at Disney parks
The cost of parking in the parks is around USD25.00 and can be up to USD50.00, if you prefer to stay closer to the park entrance, if you have any difficulty getting around, you can pay a little more and walk a little less.
What to eat inside the Disney parks?
If you are going with a child, our tip is: bring food! Some snacks, sandwiches, biscuits, snacks, social clubs, whatever they like to eat. Because inside the park the values are exaggerated and expensive, for example, a 500ml water is USD7.00 a hamburger is around USD30.00. In addition to the different menu of each park.
We took water and then we filled it up, inside the park there are drinking fountains (the water is not the best), but it helped a lot. When we needed energy, we bought a coca cola and it was all right, very cold to give that UP!
What is the cheapest month to go to Disney?
The cheapest month is usually the period when there are no school holidays, which is between May, June, September, October and November. But not that it is such a significant price, but it will be easier to find hotels closer to the parks and thus more options with more affordable prices.
How many days is ideal to stay at Disney?
The ideal is to stay at least 4 days, but if you only want to visit one Disney park because you have little money or little time, the most famous is the Magic Kingdom, it will be a super enjoyed and memorable day!
How many hours of flight to Disney?
From São Paulo to Orlando is around 8 hours and 54 minutes.
How much does a ticket to Orlando 2023 cost?
A ticket costs around R$2,500.00. But with a lot of research, and in advance you can find it for a more affordable price.
Important Tips for Going to Disney
Take your food to the parks, avoid buying inside, as everything is very expensive!
Souvenirs inside the park are also super expensive, so take the opportunity to buy something in the nearby supermarkets or in stores outside the park, not all of them are original products, but they are just as beautiful and much cheaper.
Go with comfortable clothes and sneakers, as you will spend many hours standing in lines or walking through the park, so imagine a whole day touring the park. We marked on the step calculator, we did around 15km a day. 🙂
Drink plenty of water during the day and if you can, take some headache medicine with you. As it is usually very hot in Orlando, it is easy to become dehydrated and still have a headache.
Hope you enjoyed our tips! 🙂
