Why choose Oasis Cancun Resort?

Opting for an all-inclusive resort like the Oasis Cancun proves to be especially advantageous during Spring Break, when the festive atmosphere takes over the hotel's facilities.

During this time, the convenience of having immediate access to food, beverages and entertainment without having to leave the resort can be a significant differentiator for visitors who want to make the most of the festive atmosphere.

Oasis Cancun is recognized as a traditional resort in Cancun, situated in a privileged location in the hotel zone and known for its impressive swimming pool, which is one of the largest and best in the region. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, the resort offers an all-inclusive system with 10 restaurants, 7 bars, a gym and even a nightclub.

However, some additional services, such as access to the spa, golf courses, tennis and internet in the rooms, may incur additional costs.

Regarding location, Cancun's hotel zone is the ideal place to stay, offering easy access to the best hotels, resorts, restaurants, shopping malls and nightlife spots in the region. Oasis Cancun is conveniently located at km 16.5, with restaurants at km 12 and clubs and bars at km 9. Although some areas can be accessed on foot, it is recommended to use a car or bus to fully explore the region.

As for the dining experience at the resort, guests have access to a variety of options, including Italian, Mexican, Japanese and Mediterranean restaurants, as well as self-service buffets. During Spring Break, it's important to note that service may be a bit busy due to high demand.

Additionally, the pool bars offer a selection of drinks, although some visitors have noted that the drinks can have a similar taste due to the use of water in preparation.

As far as accommodations go, rooms at Oasis Cancun are described as spacious but dated, with some amenities such as a minibar and safe, which are subject to additional fees. However, the tranquility of the corridors and the quality of sleep are praised by guests.

Location

The best place to stay, without a doubt, is in the hotel zone, as I already explained in this post about cancun. That's where the best hotels are, resorts, restaurants, shopping malls and clubs.

To give you an idea, Oasis Cancun is at km 16.5, the restaurants are at km 12 and the clubs and bars are at km 9. Nothing in Cancun is so close that you can do it on foot, but by car or bus it's a question. of minutes.

Once staying in the hotel zone, I don't see much difference as to which part would be better. The beaches between km 8 and 9 are very calm, as they face the bay of Mujeres; from km 12 onwards, the beaches face the open sea, with waves, it is no longer a turquoise blue but they are beautiful.

I found the location of oasis cancun great, the sea is beautiful, with few waves and excellent temperature.

Restaurants and all inclusive

During my week-long stay at the Oasis Cancun, I set aside a few days to explore the city in between Spring Break festivities. As it was high season, I noticed that the service was a little confused due to the hotel's maximum capacity.

Among the 10 restaurants and bars available, I tried the Italian and the Mexican, which I liked the most, although they were not exceptional. The burger served at the pool bar was also good, but I avoided the self-service, which didn't look very inviting. The breakfast, offered in self-service restaurants, had a wide variety, but didn't hold much interest for me.

In addition to those mentioned, there were options such as a Japanese restaurant, Mediterranean cuisine and other self-service buffets that I didn't get to try. Overall, the restaurants were average, and if I had chosen the resort primarily for the all-inclusive, I probably wouldn't have been completely satisfied.

As for the pool bars, they offered a variety of drinks, such as mojito, margarita, pina colada and sexy on the beach, but they all seemed to have a very similar taste. It was evident that some drinks, such as vodka, were diluted with water, a practice that appears to be common in Cancun at all-inclusive resorts.

Resort and Amenities

As I mentioned previously, the Oasis Cancun Resort is an establishment of a certain age, with a clear need for urgent internal renovation.

However, the outside of the resort is well maintained and pleasant. The gardens are lovely, equipped with a range of high quality sun loungers, beach chairs and pool towels. It is worth noting that the pool is truly impressive and kept clean throughout the day, even with the hotel crowded and frequent parties taking place around it.

There are a number of activities available at the pools during the day and entertainment at night, such as jazz shows, performances and musical performances. The resort also offers some nightclub options, the only one I had the opportunity to visit was the Coyote Bar, clearly inspired by the famous bar from the movie “Coyote Ugly”. Every day, before the parties, there was a preview in this bar.

I didn't get a chance to explore the gym, which is part of the all-inclusive package, or the paid services like the spa, golf, and tennis. However, I used the paid internet available at the resort and I must say that the quality left a lot to be desired.

The rooms

The rooms at the Oasis Cancun Resort are notably old, showing clear signs of age, such as a musty odor, the absence of a minibar to cool a simple bottle of water, and the need to pay for using the safe daily. Furthermore, the bathroom facilities leave something to be desired, contributing to the overall impression of simplicity.

It is important to emphasize that this is not an isolated issue in a specific room; rather, this is the general condition of the resort's rooms. Despite the festive and busy atmosphere outside, the hallways remain peaceful and the rooms offer a quiet refuge. Although my room did not offer a view of the pool or beach, I believe all rooms shared the same peaceful atmosphere.

If I were looking for a resort in Cancun to enjoy my vacation, I certainly wouldn't choose Oasis Cancun. Honestly, I don't think it offers good value for money. Despite the affordable price and impressive pool, the comfort and service leave something to be desired.

Furthermore, for those looking to upgrade their stay, the Oasis complex offers the Grand Oasis, an option with more modern rooms, a greater variety of restaurants and a quieter leisure area and pool. This may be a more suitable choice for those who value a little more quality and comfort, as well as escaping the constant hustle and bustle of the Oasis.

Guests of both hotels have free access to each other and can enjoy the same restaurants and bars, with some exceptions that are exclusive to Grand Oasis guests.

In short, when you arrive, I recommend asking for a Margarita to start enjoying Cancun's relaxed atmosphere and enjoy everything the city has to offer!
