When is the best time to go to Cancun
The most popular time to visit Cancun is december to april . O clima é geralmente mais agradável e quente, mas não muito quente.
Expect temperatures between 23ºC and 32ºC, as well as little rain.
Occasionally, cold fronts can blow through colder climates for a few days, which could make your vacation even more enjoyable.
Places to visit in Cancun
Undoubtedly, Cancún is gaining more and more passionate attention from tourists every day.
It is a city belonging to the state of Quintana Roo, located on the coast of the Caribbean Sea, the color of the turquoise sea, white sand, several resorts and a busy nightlife.
Below is a list of the amazing places you need to visit!
Holbox Island – Quintana Roo
It is a small island, practically a piece of paradise, located north of Quintana Roo.
When in Cancún, take 2 hours by car to the ferry.
Holbox is the best of Mexico on a small island with numerous hotels and beach clubs scattered along the coast. The main town is just a 10 minute walk from the port and is made up of a few clusters of streets.
Here, everyone is on island time, and the only things you have to worry about are where you left your flip-flops or which restaurant to dine at.
With no cars on the island, everyone gets around by golf cart (which costs about US$ 150 pesos to rent for two hours; a cab ride usually costs US$ 30 pesos).
Or if you don't want to do anything, you can have a pina colada for lunch and enjoy a day at the beach at one of the clubs.
Cenotes – Cancun
When it comes to adventurous things to do in Cancun, you can't go wrong with exploring the local cenotes.
Cenotes são poços naturais , acessados através de buracos (grutas) que perfuram na rocha cheios de água. Alguns deles você pode até nadar e mergulhar, basicamente tornando-os as piscinas mais incomuns ao redor.
The ancient Mayans used to believe that cenotes were connections to the underworld and used to perform human sacrifices there.
However, nowadays people use them to dive into an underwater adventure.
the cenotes more popular are Ik-Kil – it’s right next to Chichen Itza and many tours include this cenote in a combo package – and Dos Ojos very close to Tulum.
Ik-Kil is a lot of fun as there's a high platform you can jump onto for those brave enough, and Dos Ojos is like an underwater theme park you can dive into.
Chichen Itza – Cancun
One of the 7 wonders of the world!
Obviously I have to include Chichen Itza in my Cancun guide!
Chichen Itza is actually the most visited tourist attraction in Mexico, and it is the most magnificent of all the ruins in Quintana Roo and the Yucatan.
Chichen Itza is always extremely busy, but if you come as soon as it opens at 8am or an hour before it closes at 3:30pm, you have a good chance of seeing it without the crowded bus.
El Castillo is the main pyramid, but there are several other sites scattered around Chichen Itza, such as the Skull Platform and the Great Ball Court.
It takes a good two hours walking around Chichen Itza and taking it all in, so keep that in mind. 🇧🇷
Coba – Cancun
Coba is hidden deep in the jungle, and if I had to pick just one ruin to visit in Quintana Roo, it would probably be this one.
What I really love about Coba are two things – one, you can climb to the top of one of the pyramids with some of the most amazing views of the surrounding jungle – and two, you can take little bike rickshaws through the jungle from temple to temple. .
Coba looks much more rustic than the other ruins in Quintana Roo and really shows what a Mayan city in the heart of the jungle would have looked like centuries ago.
Again, two hours is a good amount of time to visit Coba and it's up there as one of my favorite things to do in Cancun.
Tulum Ruins – Cancun
Quando se trata do que fazer em Cancún, certifique-se de adicionar Tulum à sua lista. Esta é uma bela cidade que se tornou tão popular recentemente.
Mais abaixo na costa de Cancún estão as ruínas de Tulum. Empoleiradas na beira de uma falésia com vista para o belo mar azul, essas ruínas estão no cenário mais espetacular.
One of the names for the ruins is Zama, which means the Temple of Dawn. The ruins face the sunrise, and if you get here early in the morning, you'll see why this was such a beloved and sacred place for the Mayan people.
Como em todas as ruínas de Quintana Roo, elas ficam especialmente ocupadas por volta das 10h às 15h – é quando a maioria dos ônibus de turismo estará lá. No entanto, se você visitar fora desses horários, será muito mais tranquilo e sossegado.
Oh, don't forget to take your bathing suit, because the sea is right next to the ruins.
Isla Mujeres – Cancun
Just 45 minutes from the coast, Isla Mujeres it's a small island with pristine beaches and palm trees.
If you're thinking of taking a day trip, like Aquaworld, that includes all transfers to the island, access to a beach club for food and drink (all included in the price), a snorkeling tour, and things end in the charming fishing village in the north of the island before heading back to Cancun.
Cancun Underwater Museum
Like many places around the world, the reef around Mexico has been hit, but with MUSA they are trying to deal with it in a very different way.
The sculptures not only attract divers from all over the world, but also create an artificial reef for marine animals to reproduce, creating a new reef and preserving life.
Some of the sculptures they sunk into MUSA are some cars, a house and groups of people, which is a little scary when you're diving around them.
Puerto Morelos – Cancun
Halfway between Cancun and Tulum is Puerto Morelos, a sleepy fishing village with more than its fair share of beautiful beaches.
Puerto Morelos is fast growing as a beautiful day trip from Cancun or Tulum for its laid back beach vibes and to see the wobbly lighthouse (it was hit by a hurricane in the 60's but is still going strong!)
Coco Bongo – Cancun
Are you looking for one of the best nights out to rival any other in Las Vegas?!
Coco Bongo é um lugar incrível e muito divertido.
It's like a cabaret show crossed with a huge dance club, all with a Mexican twist, of course.

What to take to Cancun
Sunscreen –very hot and beachy, so don't forget.
Warm clothing – it can sometimes get really cool at night, so make sure to pack extra pants and a shawl/cardigan.
A bottle of water – most hotels and restaurants fill your water bottle for free – this saves you having to buy bottled water everywhere and also cuts down on plastic waste.
Repelente de insetos – se você estiver indo para Chichen Itza ou Coba, pode haver muitos mosquitos. Especialmente pegue alguns para Holbox – há um lugar lá chamado Mosquito Beach and it's called that for a reason 😉 .
