Salton Winery in Bento Gonçalves

With over 100 years of tradition, it is located in the Vale do Rio das Antas in Bento Gonçalves and has around 30,000 m² of built area.

As it receives visitors daily, it offers guided tours showing the entire wine production process, in addition to tastings and courses.

We took advantage of one of our days in Bento Gonçalves and went to visit the winery.

We arrived around 11am and took the 11:30am tour.

A guide accompanies the entire visit and tells a little about the history of the place. We know all the large halls where the fermentation process, bottling and obtaining the final product are carried out.

But the highlight of the visit was the place where the cavas – where the wines rest until they reach their point – are stored.

The place is simply amazing!

And the guide even gives a lesson on bottle storage and how maturation occurs.

In this place there is still a hall where events and even weddings are held! Have you ever thought how beautiful?! 🙂

After the visit, we went to taste some house wines and sparkling wines. The tasting is optional and costs an amount per person – this amount is refunded in the form of a credit for purchases at the winery's store.

We tried six different labels among wines and sparkling wines: Salton Talento, Salton Desire Merlot, Salton Flowers, Salton Volpi Chardonnay, Salton Volpi Brut and Salton Evidence.

We really liked the Talendo wines (Composition: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Tannat), Desires Merlot and Volpi Chardonnay. And of course we bought copies 🙂

And speaking of prices, we think they are very friendly… There are wines from R$10.00 to R$300.00 (or more) – for all tastes!

The winery also does not charge for packaging, which facilitates (and much!) the transport.

We really enjoyed our morning at Salton Winery.

Tip: to get away from large groups and enjoy better, go around midday. Our group was on a tour there were only 8 people.
