Taim Ecological Station

It is considered one of the largest sanctuaries of migratory birds in the country, among the birds that frequent the space are: spoonbills, white swans, flamingos and sandpipers, more than 30 species of mammals have also been identified in the place.
The station was recognized as World Natural Heritage and is administered by the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio).
What to visit in the Taim Reserve?
You will be able to visit the largest sanctuary of migratory birds in Brazil, coming from Patagonia! One of the most common birds in the reserve is the Black-necked Swan, one of the most beautiful in the world.

Crossing the Taim – jeeps
Once a year the adrenaline takes over!
They are jeep drivers from various parts of Brazil and the world in search of fun in the middle of epic landscapes, a lot of mud, bathed, with sun or rain!
There are usually 300 km covered in 3 days, the departure is from Hermenegildo beach to Chuí.
The route is to pass through the Ecological Station.

How to get to Taim Ecological Station
From Porto Alegre, it is 356 km, a journey of almost 5 hours. Arriving at Vila da Quinta, access the viaduct.
If you are taking the bus, ask to stop at Taim station.
