set your budget
A perfect trip doesn't need to have all the money in the world, but it does need to have a set budget. This is because when we go to another place, food prices are usually more expensive, or we want to visit parks, museums and everything that is required. values.
That's why a spreadsheet with the places you intend to go, how many days, hotel, car, food and extra purchases like clothes or some souvenir, need to be in your budget.
Below is a model for you to start your budget:

Have your documents up to date
check your RG for travel in South America, if you don't have a passport. The identity card is valid 5 years old for children up to 11 years old, 10 years for those between 12 and 59 years old, and indeterminate for persons over 60 years of age.
Check the validity of your passport. A few years ago, the validity was 5 years, currently it is 10 years. So check at least 6 months before your trip!
Have your visa up to date. Some countries, such as Canada and the USA, require a visa to enter the country. If you don't already have it, check the time it takes to apply, I already anticipate that it is currently taking up to 1 year to get the interview for the US visa.
However, if you already have it, make sure it's up to date. A renovation of the visa is happening from online form, then it will be easier to do this procedure.
Check the need for vaccines
There are countries that request vaccine against yellow fever, or even covid-19.
We already made connections in different countries and we needed to show proof of the yellow fever vaccine. Even if it's just a connection.

How to order the yellow fever vaccine?
Go to the central office in your city and request the vaccine, if you have already done so, you must request the international certificate according to the model:
Don't go overboard with luggage.
Some airlines charge for checked baggage, the average cost is $100 dollars, or additional amount for excess weight. Generally, the allowed weight is 24 kg for checked baggage and 10 kg for hand luggage.
Check with your airline about the weights and your rights, so you don't have a scare on the day of your flight.
And remember to be organized and don't go overboard with the amount of items to bring. For example, if you are going to places that are tropical, take clothes that are easy to dry, and use them more than once.
Now, if you go to cold places, your heaviest clothes need to be wearing, to avoid weight in the suitcase and that it takes up a lot of space. For example: put on a coat and boots, so you don't have to carry them in your suitcase.
Take out travel insurance
Taking out travel insurance is very important for your safety and to avoid possible headaches.
Insurance covers accidents, hospital, theft or loss of bags, among other situations. We don't imagine this could happen, but we need to prevent ourselves if it does.
If you're going to the US, a hospital stay is very expensive, and can compromise your entire trip and even your savings. With your insurance, you will be supported in situations like this.
Inform your bank when traveling
If you have an international card, and will be using it while traveling, inform your pack of your travel period. In many cases, if the bank is not informed, the card is automatically blocked.
Tip: we use the nomad card. This card has no annual fee, you can buy dollars or euros, for example, within your card application and the value will be exchanged for the local currency and thus used in any store you need.
This card is a marvel!
Take cash in physical
Carrying cash in cash is a guarantee that if something unexpected happens, you have money to spend.
Of course, don't take all your savings, around $1,000 dollars is already a big amount and it will facilitate payments like UBER, some restaurant or stores.
Create an itinerary for your trip
This point is very important for your trip!
Just imagine, you're going on a trip to Florida, and your dream is to visit the beaches of Miami. If you leave it to see what's there during the trip, it will be a huge frustration, because you'll be tired to keep researching itineraries, you won't find good places because you won't have that much time and you'll get frustrated.
Tip: create your script at home, with time and do a lot of research!
Access the Google Maps and check everything there is in the city you are going to, from museums, supermarkets, famous stores, parks, tourist places in short, walk through the streets via google:
create a spreadsheet and organize your time, enter the distances and the time to cover them, research how the traffic is in places to find out if you can stay in congested traffic or if it is quiet, evaluate the best time to cross big cities, and this detail does not it's different anywhere in the world: 8 am, noon and 5 pm are generally more congested.
Buy your ticket in advance
Buying the ticket in advance is a good way to start your trip!
I usually say that the journey begins, when we start planning. It's when we research the ticket prices and finally buy them, then we research the places and everything good there is, so we're already familiar with the trip.
Buy your ticket and prefer to travel with a paid ticket! So, when you return from your trip, you can plan and buy new tickets for the next trip!
