Let's go there for our tips, why camping it's what we love to do the most!

Before, access our link Where to camp in the United States with tips of amazing places you need to know!

What to pack for camping

First, you need to answer some questions regarding the place you will be camping:

  • How is the weather during the day and during in the evening?
  • Do you have showers?
  • Bathrooms?
  • Place with sockets to put the cell phone to charge?
  • faucets with potable water?
  • Do you have tables and grills?

From that first moment, if you have all these items mentioned above, your camp will be super quiet, however, if you don't have any of that, then it's the bagual camp (as they say in the south).

Now that you have the answers to the questions, I will list all the items you need to know:

Tent

No doubt it's the first item that needs to be inside your car!

Although, no be in a hurry to buy the cheapest tent what to find. In many situations the cheap is expensive.

Reasons:

Tents with very thin fabrics:

  • end up waterproofing rainwater
  • do not insulate well from the cold
  • can tear easily.

Tip: A recommended tent model is the NTK Cherokee GT, reasonable value depending on size (between R$ 500.00 to R$3,000.00) and it will already guarantee greater security with a polyester roof waterproofed with polyurethane 2500mm of water column, preventing it from raining inside.

Tip: when buying your tent, check the water column capacity, those considered for medium to heavy rainfall are 1,000mm to 2,000mm or very heavy rainfall up to 3,000 mm.

check if the seams are sealed, to prevent rain from seeping through the seams.

Survival kit

this kit it is fundamental so that everything goes well at your camp.

There are stores that sell these ready-made kits, however, you can assemble your own.

Kit Items:

  • Flint
  • knife or knife
  • Lighter
  • Thermal blanket (Item for body heating)
  • First aid kit (bandages, pain medicine, hydrogen peroxide)
  • Signal objects (whistle, smoke bombs)
  • Water
  • Compass
  • Rope
  • cereal bar
  • Repellent
  • Sunscreen
  • Raincoat
  • Rubber boots or boots
  • Flashlight

Remembering that these items need to be in your camp, however no need to carry them with you at all times.

For example, if you go hiking, take your knife, water and rope with you. Evaluate the possible risks according to the activity you are going to do.

As you are in a place that is adverse to your routine, any different situation can happen and you need to be prepared!

In addition, items such as a bench to sit on, fishing rod, slippers, towel, plates, pot, cutlery and thermo cups will be super useful to make it more cozy.

If you don't have a shower, wet wipes are very helpful for your “dry” bath and will prevent possible rashes.

Items to wear overnight

Be very careful where you stay overnight, as there are places that are very hot during the day and during the night, the temperature changes dramatically.

So you need to be prepared!

List:

  • inflatable mattress
  • Thermal blanket
  • Pillow
  • Hat, glove, thick socks

Sleeping in the heat is not as serious as sleeping in the cold. In fact, no one can sleep when it's cold. Then prevent yourself!!

Food

This item is very important, after all, the making a bonfire and eating is the best ever!

However, will you have a place to store the cooled items? This place could even be a cooler with a lot of ice.

If the answer is yes: cool, you can take whatever you want, from meat to roast on the barbecue, beers, soft drinks and yogurts.

If the answer is no: you can take canned goods, beans, rice, pasta, snacks, sausage, sauces...

Everything that may be possible to keep at room temperature.

Tip: if you are near a lake/river and the time you are camping is hot (summer), place your water bottles in the river, tied through a bag in the form of a net, potato sack style. Your water will be fresh!
