I think every day what I need to do to be able to travel more and more, this is not just related to having more money, living in London I learned a lot of things that I didn't see when I lived in Brazil and I want to share some of them with you, 5 secrets for you to have more money to travel.
My idea here is to tell you about some changes I'm making and with that focusing on traveling more, having more money, being a better version of myself. Many people think that in order to travel more it is only necessary to plan the trip and have more money, I would say that the process starts long before that, but that no travel blog has told you, in fact this would be the second stage, first we need to change some things to travel more, that's where a lot of people go wrong.
1 – Stop living on status and being who you are not: People don't live their lives, most of the things they do are thinking about others: I'm going to buy branded clothes, I want to change my car, I want to go to reputable restaurants, etc. You just need to be who you really are, not what other people have determined who you should be, there's no secret here. From today on, everything you do put yourself first and second comes you again, then come the people you like very much.
2 – Never buy anything in installments again: People's biggest problem is wanting to live dreams out of time and that costs a lot. Apartment finance in 360 months, car in 60, cell phone in 12, shoe in 3 installments, they realized that we spend our whole lives paying bills, interest and things that society has imposed that we need in our lives to be someone happy and successful ? Then you say that this is the only way you will have things, in fact what you have to do is plan and not anticipate.
I adopted the following rule, I can no longer live out dreams or buy anything in installments, if I don't have money to change my cell phone it will be my problem, I have to work harder to earn that money and buy in cash. This will force me to think of other ways to earn money, because we know that our work from 9 am to 6 pm only “serves” to pay the bills and will not make us rich.
I highly recommend the book”Rich Dad, Poor Dad”, which teaches what I just mentioned and focusing a lot on making money work for you and not you working for money, the focus is on acquiring things that will make you earn money and not spend it. The author talks about the “Rat Race”, every month people are running to be able to pay off the bills, pay the interest on the overdraft, purchases in installments and the end of the month arrives and you managed to pay everything, wow. The following month it's the same thing, the next year too, 5 years from now the scene keeps repeating itself, ENOUGH!
Have you ever heard that the guy won the Megasena and after a few years he lost everything? What most people lack is having the knowledge of how to handle money, invest it, how to spend it well, what to buy, etc. To build a building the most important thing are the foundations, if they are done the wrong way the building will fall. Here's a tip for two more books: From Thousand to Million and Spare me.
3 – Change your way of thinking: only then will you be a better version of yourself.
“This week I'm so tired and unmotivated, I'm going to buy a new shoe, so I feel happier and more beautiful, I'm never going to travel to this destination, I worked all month and worked hard, I deserve to go to lunch at an expensive place that I like , I see these people going to travel to Europe, I will never be able to go to such a place.”
I could name more than 10000 phrases that people say every day that need to change NOW the way they think and act on a certain subject, because what you are doing is sending a message to your subconscious and it will do the most to bring all this back, ahhhh and we must stop blaming others, the fault for being in this situation is not the president, his boss, his neighbor, at the end of the post I will tell you who is to blame.
I'll tell you some things I've done that are helping me a lot to be a better version of myself. I made some changes in my way of thinking and acting:
I can't – I can, I can't – what do I need to do to be able to, my day will suck – my day will be the best day of my life, I'm a failure – I'm a success, I hate my job – I love work , I hate my boss – I love my boss (if you are not 100% happy then look for another job), it is too expensive and I will never go there – I will find ways to earn more money, spend less, plan myself and so on I'm going to visit this place, I need to buy this to be happier, I'm so down – I'm only going to buy it if I really need it, to make sure I need it I ask two questions: Do I need it? Do I really need this?
I'm changing my way of thinking, we don't need to change the world to reflect on us, change every day a little, if you improve 1% per day, imagine how much you will have evolved in 1 month or 1 year?
I indicate the Mindset book, I really liked it and it will make you change your way of thinking.
4 – Invest as soon as you receive your salary, not what’s left over at the end of the month: It's very unfair to yourself to pay you only at the end of the month. Create the habit of investing, start with R$ 10, then R$ 20, at first it will seem little, but after you see the money yielding and your investments growing, you will be addicted to saving money and not spending it.
The tip here is to set up an automatic debit for the day you receive your salary, so you'll live with what's left over and not spend the whole month and invest what's left over at the end of the month. START TODAY!
5 – Stop thinking that we will only be happy when we get rich: We spend our whole lives thinking that happiness is achieved when we have an expensive car of the year, a mansion, fashionable clothes, Rolex watches, etc. Here in London I have absolutely none of that, and do you know why I'm being happy? No one notices you here, you can have a Ferrari or ride the bus, live with a view of Big Ben or share a flat, wear Armani or one of the cheapest brands, naaaaad matters in the eyes of others.
Here I was sure that when I lived in Brazil, I did many things thinking about pleasing others and not myself.
Speaking of which, use your credit card conscientiously, never pay just the minimum, but the total bill. The worst excuse we can give ourselves is when it arrives and we ask ourselves, "wow, I don't know why the card came so high, where did I spend it?". Of course you do!
I could write a book on this topic, but I want to leave a message that can change your life.
Do you know whose fault it is that you are in the situation you are in today? YOUR!
A few years ago I was talking to a guy from another country in a hostel in Barcelona and he told me “life is up to you”, life is up to you. Everything you have or don't have today, your habits, your way of thinking, your beliefs, it was you who installed that computer called mind. If we don't do something to change our lives NOW, who will do it for us?
So we are in the current situation because of OUR fault or merit! If you are not happy, start with such a change of 1% per day.
What am I doing to change my life?
Since February/19 my girlfriend Helena and I have been waking up at 5 am EVERY DAY to develop ourselves, intellectually, mentally, financially and be healthier. This is only possible because we are creating new habits and we are very focused. read the Miracle Morning book.
I thought it was crazy too, you're not the only one who thinks so. I realized that the effort I made before is actually called the comfort zone, everything that happens in our lives is a reflection of our thoughts and actions.
While people sleep, we develop, we do things like: Read a book, meditate, work on our project (I'm here at 6:05 am on a Thursday writing this post), listen to a podcast, consume content that will help me evolve and many other things.
So starting today you will start doing different things in your life to get different results, COMBINED?
You can be sure that what I said above will have a big impact on your life if you start thinking and acting differently, always with the goal of TRAVELING MORE and being HAPPIER! I intend to bring more content like this, your feedback in the comments is important for us to be able to help you.
The best investment you can make in your life is in knowledge and first and foremost in TRAVEL!
