The paradise in question is called<strong> Capitol<\/strong> and stays in<strong> Minas Gerais<\/strong> between the <strong>Serra da Canastra and Lake Furnas<\/strong>, that is, there is no shortage of incredible natural landscapes and lots of greenery !!!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Capitol<\/strong> is the right destination for nature lovers, as there are countless waterfalls, natural pools, several trails that can be done by<em> trekking, horseback riding, mountain biking or motorcycling,<\/em> or for those who don&#039;t enjoy anything of adventure, a good<strong> speedboat ride<\/strong> it is the right choice to discover all these beautiful sceneries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I&#039;ve been to town twice, last year <span style=\"color: #999999;\">(during Holy Week and just before the explosion of tourism there)<\/span> and this year <span style=\"color: #999999;\">(also during holy week and with the city absurdly crowded).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But why always on the Holy Week holiday??<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Because long before Capitol City was known as it is now,<strong> lake cliffs,<\/strong> which is a super spa <em>top<\/em> in the city, it was already well known for its incredible parties this holiday and soon I&#039;ll talk more about Escarpas and Holy Week there.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2348\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171001220028im_\/http:\/\/nosnatrip.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/guia-de-capitolio-mg-nos-na-trip-erica-camargo-viaja3.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171001220028im_\/http:\/\/nosnatrip.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/guia-de-capitolio-mg-nos-na-trip-erica-camargo-viaja3.jpg 940w, https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171001220028im_\/http:\/\/nosnatrip.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/guia-de-capitolio-mg-nos-na-trip-erica-camargo-viaja3-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171001220028im_\/http:\/\/nosnatrip.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/guia-de-capitolio-mg-nos-na-trip-erica-camargo-viaja3-768x576.jpg 768w\" alt=\"guia-de-capitolio-mg-nos-na-trip-erica-camargo-viaja3\" width=\"940\" height=\"705\" data-id=\"2348\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"COMO_CHEGAR\"><\/span><strong>HOW TO GET ?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Well\u2026 the place is really beautiful and worth the sacrifice but I\u2019m already advancing that <strong>get to Capit\u00f3lio from Rio or S\u00e3o Paulo<\/strong> it is not a very easy task.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Leaving Rio de Janeiro, the distance is 631 km<\/strong> and the route can be done by two ways,<strong> going through Teres\u00f3polis<\/strong><span style=\"color: #999999;\"> (towards Juiz de Fora)<\/span> or<strong> going through Resende.<\/strong> The first takes 10 hours on the road <span style=\"color: #999999;\">(yes, 10 hours because the roads are terrible from Barbacena, so this whole time)<\/span> and the second takes an average of 8 hours.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I don&#039;t know the way through<strong> Resende,<\/strong> which is done by <strong>highway BR-354<\/strong> and I also don&#039;t remember why the hell I didn&#039;t do this route since it takes less time <span style=\"color: #999999;\">(but at the time there must have been some explanation hahahaha).<\/span> Last year I went by car and took the road from <strong>Teresopolis,<\/strong> by <strong>BR-040 and BR-265 highways<\/strong>, and I found it a very tiring trip, not only because of the distance <span style=\"color: #999999;\">(because I love to drive on roads)<\/span> but because the road is really bad, the<em> BR-265<\/em> it was one of the worst roads I&#039;ve ever driven in my life, all potholes, poorly signposted and with lots of trucks. The road only gets better again when we enter the<strong> MG-050<\/strong> which is great and is the road that leads to Capit\u00f3lio. As I had never taken these roads before, I used the <em>waze app<\/em> that I think is great for roads, ok, that he gave me some<em> trolling<\/em> to get me out of some supposed traffic and threw me into some very strange little towns along the way, apart from that detail it worked very well and after 10 endless hours I arrived at my destination.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Leaving S\u00e3o Paulo, the distance is 439 km<\/strong> and the journey takes an average of 6 hours, regardless of the road you choose. There are 3 options,<strong> taking the BR-146<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #999999;\">(towards Campinas),<\/span><strong> BR-381<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #999999;\">(towards Pouso Alegre)<\/span> or yet<strong> BR-050<\/strong><span style=\"color: #999999;\"> (towards Jundia\u00ed)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This year, I didn&#039;t want to drive and that&#039;s why I went to S\u00e3o Paulo to meet some friends so we could all leave there together. It is still a tiring journey but I found the road less worse than leaving Rio.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Ok, but what is the best way to get to Capit\u00f3lio from Rio ??<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I think the most practical and comfortable way is <strong>taking a flight to Belo Horizonte and from there renting a car and heading to Capit\u00f3lio<\/strong>, it&#039;s another 3 hours on the road <em>MG-050<\/em> and good luck\u2026 I told you it wasn&#039;t an easy task hahahaha.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For those who want to save money, another option is <strong>leave by bus here from Rio to Belo Horizonte and from there take another bus to Capit\u00f3lio.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Oh, and for those who have no intention of saving money and still want to optimize<span style=\"color: #999999;\"> ( is very)<\/span> your time, there is a<strong> helipad<\/strong> <strong>in Escarpas do Lago<\/strong><span style=\"color: #999999;\"> (and several houses also have)<\/span> and helicopter flights from Rio or Sampa to there last an average of just over an hour.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2351\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171001220028im_\/http:\/\/nosnatrip.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/guia-de-capitolio-mg-nos-na-trip-erica-camargo-viaja6.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171001220028im_\/http:\/\/nosnatrip.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/guia-de-capitolio-mg-nos-na-trip-erica-camargo-viaja6.jpg 940w, https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171001220028im_\/http:\/\/nosnatrip.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/guia-de-capitolio-mg-nos-na-trip-erica-camargo-viaja6-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171001220028im_\/http:\/\/nosnatrip.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/guia-de-capitolio-mg-nos-na-trip-erica-camargo-viaja6-768x576.jpg 768w\" alt=\"guia-de-capitolio-mg-nos-na-trip-erica-camargo-viaja6\" width=\"940\" height=\"705\" data-id=\"2351\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"ONDE_SE_HOSPEDAR\"><\/span><strong>WHERE TO STAY?\u00a0<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There&#039;s a place with options for all tastes and pockets!!!! In Capit\u00f3lio or in its surroundings it is possible to find <strong>campings to resorts, going through super charming hotels or even renting luxury houses in Escarpas do Lago.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The two times I&#039;ve been to the city I&#039;ve stayed in <strong>Lake Escarpments<\/strong> and I opted for <strong>rent house<\/strong> with friends and this is an excellent option only when you are going with a large group, because in addition to all the houses there being huge, the rent is also not cheap. Anyway, I think Escarpas is the most charming place in the city, the neighborhood<span style=\"color: #999999;\"> ( or luxury condominium, until today I don&#039;t know exactly if Escarpas is a neighborhood or a condominium, lol )<\/span> it has some bars, restaurants, a small market, a marina and is about 20 minutes from Capit\u00f3lio and about 40 minutes from the Furnas Canyons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">How to rent houses there ?? There are several sites for renting houses and until today we use Imobili\u00e1ria Escarpas. There it is also possible to rent a boat to go on a trip and if you need a maid and\/or cook they also indicate<span style=\"color: #999999;\"> (I think it&#039;s great value for money when the group is large).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Still in Escarpas it is also possible to stay in a <strong>Hotel,<\/strong> the Hotel Escarpas do Lago, I don&#039;t know it but by the structure of the place I imagine it&#039;s at least good.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Other options are<strong> little inns\u00a0<\/strong>ranging from simple to very charming and most are located around the MG-050 road near the canyons or in very close cities such as<strong> Formiga and Sao Jose da Barra<\/strong>\ud83c\udde7\ud83c\uddf7 By the way, in Formiga there is a well-known resort in the region, which is Furnas Park. <span style=\"color: #999999;\">(I don&#039;t know either but I have good references from him).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For those who like<strong> camping<\/strong>, the best option is the one at Pousada do Rio Turvo.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2347\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171001220028im_\/http:\/\/nosnatrip.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/guia-de-capitolio-mg-nos-na-trip-erica-camargo-viaja2.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171001220028im_\/http:\/\/nosnatrip.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/guia-de-capitolio-mg-nos-na-trip-erica-camargo-viaja2.jpg 940w, https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171001220028im_\/http:\/\/nosnatrip.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/guia-de-capitolio-mg-nos-na-trip-erica-camargo-viaja2-300x209.jpg 300w, https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171001220028im_\/http:\/\/nosnatrip.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/guia-de-capitolio-mg-nos-na-trip-erica-camargo-viaja2-768x534.jpg 768w\" alt=\"guide-de-capitolio-mg-nos-na-trip-erica-camargo-viaja2\" width=\"940\" height=\"654\" data-id=\"2347\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"COMO_SE_LOCOMOVER\"><\/span><strong>HOW TO MOVE ?\u00a0<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So\u2026 if getting to Capit\u00f3lio is not a very simple thing, getting around it isn\u2019t either, then I really <strong>I advise you to arrive in the city by car.<\/strong> Most trails, waterfalls and canyons are in the middle of the road and although there are buses, they are scarce, as well as taxis. Luckily, I always had good weather going in March, beautiful days with a little rain from time to time but nothing that would interfere with a walk.
