South America: ID or passport?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you think you need to get a passport to go to Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and throughout Latin America, you are wrong!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is it possible to travel with RG<\/strong> through the countries of South America \ud83d\ude09 With the exception of Guyana, other countries allow people to move across borders with only their national identity card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"passport<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

That's right. You can travel to Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela only with an original RG (not valid for a driver's license!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But pay attention to one detail: the expiration date of your RG!!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To travel with ID, it needs to have a recent photo, it cannot be more than 10 years old. Check where it says: shipping date<\/strong>, as shown in the photo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, will the immigration people bar you by the date of the ID or by the photo? To avoid problems, make your passport and travel with it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be no problems, a passport is a passport (within its validity, of course). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the more stamps you have, the easier it is to get a visa for other countries like the United States.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip: <\/em><\/strong>In the city, if you don't want to go out with your passport in your purse\/backpack, use your ID and leave it in the hotel safe \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We always prefer to travel with a passport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
