S\u00e3o Paulo, the name Ilhabela already means and confirms that the city is beautiful by nature. It is no coincidence that the main island of this archipelago (S\u00e3o Sebasti\u00e3o Island) is listed as a State Park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ilhabela is famous for water sports, especially sailing \u2013 the constant winds that blow in the&nbsp;<em>San Sebastian Canal<\/em>&nbsp;make the North coast beaches perfect for the activity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charm is also a hallmark of the region, with cozy inns, restaurants, handicraft shops and cafes in the streets around the village, as the trendy little center is called, the meeting point for all tribes after the beach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The paradise-like atmosphere of the island is due to the scenery framed by the blue sea, mountains covered with native Atlantic Forest vegetation, waterfalls \u2013 there are more than 300 \u2013 and beaches with golden sand and crystal clear waters such as the popular ones in Curral and Perequ\u00ea. There are countless sights and possibilities to enjoy this paradise that is also the Capital of Sailing in Brazil. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its history is marked from the presence of pirates and corsairs, to the sinking of transatlantic ships that rest in the sea around Ilhabela.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Passeios_em_Ilhabela_%E2%80%93_Sao_Paulo\"><\/span>Tours in Ilhabela \u2013 S\u00e3o Paulo<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Instituto_Historico_Geografico_e_Arqueologico_de_Ilhabela\"><\/span><strong>Historical, Geographical and Archaeological Institute of Ilhabela<\/strong><strong><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Inaugurated in 2006, the site brings together artifacts collected during research at archaeological sites in&nbsp;<strong>Beautiful island<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is possible to see pre-colonial pieces in chipped or polished stone, indigenous ceramics and other objects from the time of European colonization. The exhibitions make it possible to recover the history of the occupation of the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mergulho_em_Ilhabela\"><\/span>Diving in Ilhabela<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This archipelago has dozens of shipwrecks \u2013 freighters, sailboats, tugboats and even ships (among them the \u201cPr\u00edncipe das Asturias\u201d, a luxury ocean liner that sank carrying 477 people in 1916). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The clear sea provides good visibility, impressing divers. But that&#039;s not all: fish, turtles and even dolphins and whales can be a gift to the adventurous tourist. It is in the south and east that most of the shipwrecks are found. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can learn a little about the sport and go on an adventure with Narwhal (which even has its own inn for divers) and Colonial Diver. It is seven kilometers from the ferry.
